If you are in the East End or the Highlands, your chimney may serve a gas insert that was retrofitted into a wood-burning fireplace, which requires its own service protocol distinct from a standard sweep.
Dryer vent runs in Boise vary widely. Ranch-style homes on the Bench and Southwest Boise tend to have short, direct runs that exhaust through the side wall. Two-story homes and townhomes in the Southeast Boise corridor near Overland Road often have longer runs that route through interior walls to a roof cap, which means lint accumulates at a faster rate and blocks more easily. For air duct cleaning, Boise’s wildfire smoke season is a recurring issue. Fine particulates from smoke events settle in return air plenums and on evaporator coils faster than any other contamination source in this market. If your home does not have a high-MERV filter or a whole-home air purifier, and you relied on your HVAC system during a wildfire smoke day, a duct inspection is worth scheduling before the next heating season.
